Author Interview: Berengaria Brown

Please welcome erotic romance author Berengaria Brown to my cyber home today. I'm so pleased to have her with us. I hope you'll ask plenty of questions and make lots of comments to make her feel welcome. I'll check in after I get home from my day job to say hi and answer comments and questions for me.

Thanks!

Ashley: Why do you write erotic romance?

Berengaria: I love reading erotic romance—all different types of erotic romance—but my favorite authors couldn’t write fast enough so I decided to write a book. While I was waiting for the publishing house to reply I wrote another one, and another one………

Ashley: What romance subgenres do you write in? Why?

Berengaria: Mostly contemporary, but I have several books with paranormal elements such as a ghost, and I have two Regency-set historicals as well. I read widely so that is what I write.

Ashley: Are you aware of any themes that run through your stories? If so, what are they?

Berengaria: There is always a happy ending, I love happy endings.

Ashley: What would you like readers to take away from your stories?

Berengaria: My characters are ordinary people who find happiness. Every person deserves to find their own happy ending.

Ashley: What inspires your stories?

Berengaria: I sit down and the characters talk to me and tell me what happens. In “Intensity” I thought I was writing Keziah’s story and the ghost took over.

Ashley: Will you be attending any book or writing conferences this year? If yes, which ones? Where and when?

Berengaria: I have not planned anything yet, but maybe.

Ashley: Do you have any book signings or author appearances coming soon? If yes, where and when?

Berengaria: I am e-published so am active on chat loops and blogs rather than in bookstores.

Ashley: What is your writing schedule?

Berengaria: Like most authors I have a day job so fit in writing around that.

Ashley: Do you have any other passions besides writing? If yes, what are they? Why?

Berengaria: Reading. I was a reader long before I was a writer. I read anything and everything.

Ashley: What is the best memory?

Berengaria: When I was very small I sat and looked at books without pictures and wondered what they meant. Then one day I actually read a word and I was so excited. I was also hooked on reading.

Ashley: What is your favorite comfort food?

Berengaria: Chocolate!

Ashley: What relaxes you?

Berengaria: Reading, hanging out with friends.

Ashley: What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

Berengaria: It used to be reading erotica, but that is practically mainstream now.

Ashley: What decade has been your favorite? Why?

Berengaria: My favorite time is always right now. I believe in enjoying what I am doing right now.

Ashley: What is your favorite way to promote?

Berengaria: Blogs and chat loops – I want to meet other people who read and write the sort of books I like to read and write.

Ashley: Where is your favorite place to write? Why?

Berengaria: I take my laptop everywhere with me so I can write whenever I get a new idea.

Ashley: What is your favorite fairy tale? Why?

Berengaria: Hmm Maybe Rumpelstiltskin. So many of the girls/princesses in the stories are quite stupid. At least in this one she outsmarts him. Oh, no, how about Snow White. She had 7 men to hang out with and I'm not at all convinced she was as snow white after that!

Ashley: What was your favorite vacation?

Berengaria: I went to Hawaii one year. I loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere there, the warm weather and the lush green plants. Must. Go There. Again.

Ashley: If you had another career, what was it?

Berengaria: I still work at the dreaded day job, unfortunately.

Ashley: If you didn’t write, what would you do instead?

Berengaria: Read.

Ashley: If you could have one wish, what would it be?

Berengaria: Equal rights for all women everywhere.

Ashley: If you could describe yourself in only one word, what would it be?

Berengaria: Ordinary.

Ashley: Who is your favorite American Idol contestant this year? Why?

Berengaria: Maybe Michael Lynche – his vocals were verrrry sultry.

Ashley: Are you a cat or dog person? Do you have any pets and if so, please tell us about them.

Berengaria: I don’t have any pets right now.

Ashley: What is the one thing you most want to do that you haven’t yet?

Berengaria: I guess I am just like every other writer; I want to have a best seller.

Ashley: Please tell us about your most recent release and where we can purchase it.

"Intensity" released from Siren BookStrand on 21 April.

This is contemporary-set with paranormal elements.

Excerpt:

WARNING: This is an adult excerpt from an erotic contemporary menage novella.

The excerpt....

The men sat on the bed and advised Keziah about the clothes she should wear to her new receptionist job.

“Classy,” insisted Amos.

“I need to blend into the background a bit,” said Keziah, pulling out a navy suit and a gray suit.

“They’re boring,” said Wesley, jumping up to look in the closet.

“Not with my blue blouse. And I have a lilac one, too,” Keziah argued.

“What about green or red or bright pink or gold?”

“Not my colors. I need to blend into the background,” she repeated.

“Honey, let us dress you. We want to you to stand out, not blend in.

You’re a beautiful, intelligent person. We want everyone who sees you to know that instantly. Please, let us choose you some new clothes.”

“Absolutely not. This receptionist job is for an hour a day. It’s nothing. And even the other one is only twelve hours a week. It’s insane to spend money on clothes. I should be helping buy food and stuff like that. Pay the light bill and things.”

“The company owns the flat, so they pay all the utilities. And if you’re cooking for us, that’s your share of the food situation,” said Amos.

Both men must have noticed the mulish set to her chin, so Wesley riffled through her closet a little more and pulled out a straw sunhat and a pair of stilettos. Slipping them on, he pranced around the room singing, “The sun’ll come out, tomorrow.”.

Amos fell back on the bed laughing, but Keziah rushed to him saying, “Don’t stretch my shoes with your huge feet!”

Wesley kicked the shoes off, pulled his T-shirt and jeans off, then dropped a sundress over his head. He made no attempt to do it up but settled the straw hat back on his head and began to dance and sing again. He pulled Keziah into his arms and had her waltzing around the room.

Amos hopped off the bed and sorted through her clothes. He found himself a deep pink shirt, which he put on over his T-shirt, bowed, tapped Wesley on the shoulder, and said, “May I have this dance?”

Keziah dropped a necktie around her neck, swiftly tied a half-Windsor knot, then inserted herself into the dancing again.

Ten minutes later, the three of them collapsed laughing and giggling on the bed.

“Hmm, I see a parcel that needs unwrapping,” said Amos, focusing on her necktie.

“And since your shirt is undone, you may as well take it off,” she responded.

Then turning to Wesley, she added, “You shouldn’t wear hats inside,”

and she flipped it off.

Amos continued to undress Keziah as she pulled the shirt off him, and within moments, all three of them had their hands everywhere, peeling off the last few items of clothing.

Wesley lay flat on the bed, his head toward the foot, and pulled Keziah to him. “Suck me,” he asked. “It’s been so long since you’ve done that, and you do it so well.”

“Delighted to,” she replied and kneeled by his cock.

He grabbed her legs and pulled her body onto his in the traditional 69 position, licking her bare mons as she sucked his cock deep into her mouth.

Amos grabbed a condom from the nightstand and rolled it on, then asked, “Room for one more?” and kneeled at Keziah’s feet. Carefully placing a leg on either side of Wesley’s head, he slid into Keziah’s cunt
