I just got the email - I have another new editor - at a different publisher.
So I'm doing my homework.
I'm reading blog posts, tweets, and if I can find them, I'll read other books she's edited.
Information is power.
Already, I've discovered a couple of her pet peeves. I don't think I would have committed those errors, but now I won't for darn sure.
If I were an editor, I'd hope my authors would find out what I like and don't like and strive to turn in material to my liking.
I recently read an agent's post who said there is no excuse in today's world not to read an editor's or agent's blog before submitting to find out what they like and don't like. I'm taking this advice to heart.
