As some of you know, I was at my daughter's softball game earlier tonight. I was also online at the Joyfully Reviewed chat with the TEB authors (www.total-e-bound.com) courtesy of hubby's wireless Internet connection card and my trusty lap top. My daughter's team, the Red Sox, were losing 13 - 4 in the second to last inning. So it wasn't hard to do my thing on the Internet during this. All of a sudden, however, the Red Sox began to kick ass. They turned it totally around. They were getting the other team out, 1-2-3. Then they were belting the hell out of the ball and running laps around the field. In the second to last inning, they came up so that it was 13-12. I thought that was the last inning and we'd lost. I almost had a heart attack this game was so intense. But then there was another inning. And we got two outs. And then the bases were loaded. And then a strong batter kept fouling and got 2 strikes. I mean, we were so close to winning and losing. Then the catcher fumbled the ball and and all 3 runners on base came home. Woohoo! Those girls didn't give up. They kept playing and they emerged victorious. I think there's a lesson in this.

I went to a ball game in which our AAA team, the Indianapolis Indians, were down by nearly 10 points. Going into to the 8th inning, many people in our group left, to avoid the traffic and grumbling about the way the boys played. In the bottom of the 8th, our boys got on a hot streak and came back to win, in extra innings, by two runs. That was truly a game about not giving up!
A very important lesson....
Congrats to your daughter's team too.
Dang! I'm all excited just reading about it! WTG Ashley's girlie! :)
Ok, I don't understand sport in any form unless Australia wins but woo hoo I understand
Thanks all. I'm at another of Steph's ball games tonight - now it's the highschool team and a weekend tournament. Again I wangled hubby's internet card out of him so I can get to Amarinda's chat. It's on EC tonight from 7-10 EST, right? I hope it's before I run out of laptop juice.
