Did you hear?

Yesterday, I posted about some strange people who call our customer service department at my day job. I just heard my local 11 pm TV news about a very strange situation. A woman was found stuck to her toilet. Not just stuck, but she'd sat on the seat so long, her skin had grown around it. Can you imagine? Supposedly, she's not left her bathroom in two years. Her boyfriend's been bringing her food and water for all that time. He finally called the authorities very recently because his girlfriend grew ill. The authorities had to remove her with the toilet to get her out. She's in the hospital now and the boyfriend may be up on charges. I feel sorry for someone like that. I suppose she had a phobia or mental illness. On a much different note, I see that I've had at least two visitors from South America now. I like to look at my visitor map. North America is covered. Britain and Europe has brought me a lot of visitors. Some from Australia and Asia. There's no one from Africa yet. Does this mean that a lot of people in Africa don't own computers or if they do, they don't blog and surf? I see a lot of articles from South Africans on the net, so I thought I'd eventually see a visitor from that country. We'll see. If you joined the NOR (Night Owl Romance chat) tonight, I must apologize. I came for about 35 minutes, from 8-8:35 p.m. It was just my turn to be in the spotlight and my laptop died. The battery ran out of juice. Wouldn't you know it? This is because I was also at my daughter's softball game outside, so I had no power outlets and was strictly on battery power and using my hubby's Internet card. It's just my luck that it cut out on my at just that second. Oy!

The latest news is that the woman's boyfriend is likely to be charged.

Thanks for the visit and the great comment. Yes, I do take all my own photos ....

If someone's in one of my bathrooms for more than 10 minutes, other family members are trying to bang down the door. Sometimes, after only 5 minutes. This situation is just inconceivable. I'll have to watch for news updates tomorrow.

Y'all have to visit David McMahon's blog and see his fabulous pics. He has several gorgeous ones of rainbows.

The toilet story? No way! Can't be real. She would have infected pressure sores within months, how did she last years? She would have had no skin left, let alone enough to grow over the toilet seat...bad luck about your lap top battery! I've been on David's blog before, great stuff, no idea why its been so long since I went there...

I read that story on anothe blog, so sad (DJ, her skin had overgrown on the seat!)

Thanks for stopping by. No, I'm not in military, I was visiting a US Airforce base that is in the UK. Saying that my parents were in the Australian Airforce and I grew up on bases.

Unfortunately, this is a true story and not an urban legend. This was on my local TV news station. Amarinda says only in America. Why is it only us that would do these things or let these things happen?

Yes, I've just come over from Casdok, who wrote about the same thing! Really weird & obviously sick.
I wonder where the boyfriend went to pee?

That is such a sad bit of news! I think the boyfriend needs some help too. To look after her all that time and not call anyone for 2 years...

And the laptop? I call that Murphy's Law! Thanks for stopping by mine.

Maggie - there were probably two bathrooms in the home. We lived in a mobile home when we were first married and had two. Some of the larger ones even had 3 bathrooms.

Yes, he should have called for help after a day or two tops.
