Ghost

We're watching Ghost with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Isn't it about the most romantic movie of all times?

I'm a sucker for romance. Of course, I'm sure my friends, family, and readers had no clue whatsoever.

I'm a real pushover when the romance is combined with action/adventure and/or comedy. This movie has it all.

I keep trying to write romances that are so poignant and beautiful.

Now the song Unchained Melody is playing. This song always melts my heart. Does it yours? It's one of my favorite songs of all time. I always liked it, but combined with this movie and the romance, it just seems so ultra romantic.

Moving along to other things, my mother in law's in town. At one time, that would have scared me to death. It still makes me a little nervous. There was a time she was hell on wheels. She's mellowed a lot. I always promised I'd be a nice mother in law and then my daughter in law was something else, too. But we've finally meshed. However, my daughter-in-law and my mother-in-law can't stand each other. Aren't families fun??? Tomorrow night, we're ALL going to have dinner together, all 12 of us. Well, if Keith can't get off work, then only 11 of us. He's going to try.

My younger daughter signed up for her 2008-2009 school schedule. She'll be a high school senior. She was upset that she couldn't get many electives and not the ones she wanted. For some reason, they wouldn't put her in any art classes for the past 3 years and she loves art. She can only get into beginners' art classes now as all the others have prerequisites. She's learned a lot from her older sister the artist, so she feels she's beyond that, so she's mad. She did sign up for a web design class which sounds pretty nifty. I wish we'd had web design when I was in school. I'd love to take one now.

Hi Ashley,

Ghost is one of those movies that I could watch over and over. Such a romantic story (sigh) I always cry during the penny scene.

I'm glad you visited me because now I feel convicted to get my butt back to writing! It's been far too long since I committed to x amount of pages per day...guess I can't be suprised that it's not going anywhere :(

Happy Writing,
Dena

My mom was thrilled the day I learned to play 'Unchained Melody' on the organ! I could always get out of doing chores if I played it and other of her favorites....until she wised up to what I was doing, LOL:)

That is one of my all time favourite movies.
Great plot. Loads of romance. And oh so sad!

Dena - Definitely, get back to writing. Happy writing!

Molly - I used to play the organ - haven't in years and that wasn't a song I knew how to play, unfortunately. :(

Cath - That penny scene brings tears to my eyes, too.

yep - I like Ghost but my favourite two movies (that aren't 'old' or b & w) are 'While you Were Sleeping" and "The Big Easy" - classic romance

Whats stopping you now from taking that course?

Hey Ashley!! Thanks for your comments on my blog this morning.

Yeah, Ghost is certainly one of the most romantic movies ever. And, Unchained Melody is without a doubt in the 10 ten best love songs ever.

Sorry to hear your daughter couldn't get the electives she wanted. That sucks that she's being treated as a "beginning" artist when she's obviously beyond that based on outside experiences and innate talent. Hopefully next year, when she starts college, she'll be able to take the art courses she wants, instead of having something dictated to her by school officials.

As much as I love romance, Ghost is not high up on my list. How about Prelude to a Kiss? Or Bed of Roses?

I like Patrick Swayze too, but I'm a bigger fan of Red Dawn and The Outsiders. ;)

I've not seen Prelude to a Kiss or Bed of Roses or The Big Easy, but now I have new movies to check out. Thanks.

While You Were Sleeping is one of my favorites, too. And Dirty Dancing.

Red Dawn's okay. I've not seen The Outsiders, either.

Yeah, Vi, I have to take that class soon as the daughter isn't playing softball every night (after I get home from the day job) and I'm her taxi.
