I just read a post about sexy men of the 80's at Romance in the Back Seat's blog. In my comment I replied that I was a child of the 60's, a teen in the 70's, and in my twenties in the 80's. As I was married with three young children in the 80's, it's a blur of Big Bird, He Man, and Thundercats for me. Thinking harder, I start to remember John Cusack. He's a bit young for me - at least he was then - now I can do up to 10 years younger with no problem. Cougars are popular now, right? She mentioned Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer from Top Gun. I added Harrison Ford from Star Wars and Indiana Jones. How could I forget Star Wars? My husband made me name our oldest son "Luke" after seeing "Empire Strikes Back" when I was pregnant with him. And I had a huge crush on Michael Douglas in "Romancing the Stone" back then, too. I also mentioned John Schneider - Bo Duke from Dukes of Hazard. I absolutely love him now. Watch reruns of Smallville - he's Clark Kent's father - and sexy as hell. I forgot that Bruce from Scarecrow & Mrs. King was pretty hunky. I liked him a lot. And how could I forget Jonathan Frakes - Commander Will Ryker from Next Generation:Star Trek? Seriously sexy! I didn't think so at the time, but now I think Jean Luc is pretty sexy, too. Anthony Geary, "Luke" in General Hospital was pretty sexy, too. Oh my God! I almost forgot one of the best: Patrick Swayze. I absolutely adored Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing. I also almost forgot Rick Springfield. God is he cute. (Singer and also Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital) But I was into the stars of the 70's. Try John Travolta-Saturday Night Fever. We had so much fun at the disco. Lots of men tried to be as cool as Travolta. David Cassidy. Be still my heart. Oh! And Donny Osmond. I liked him a lot then. I love him now in Joseph and the Many Colored Dream Coat. Either my memory's failing or maybe I did like movies better in the 80's than the 70's. I'm still surprised I remember much from the 80's. Between full-time college, a ton of diapers, and jobs, I precious little time for anything else. Want to have a little fun?
