Time and Energy Management

I just joined two ning groups. It doesn't really matter which ones for the purpose of this post, just that I thought they were neat. In particular I was intrigued by the words "Create your own social network!". I am very tempted to start my own group. It sounds like great promotion and great fun. But what kind of group would I create? I'm already in groups for twittering moms, paranormal/vampire writers, readers/book lovers, writers, and women in their 40s. Maybe grandmas who are still moms of young kids at home, too? Or maybe moms who are also writers? Or maybe a place for writers looking for critique partners (that may actually be a good one - if I had time). Or maybe alien moms who are green and purple polka dotted? (not that I'd get many members for that one - or would I?) Also, where would I find the time to get it going and then moderate it? I'm in a time crunch already. I also love the idea of hosting a weekly internet radio show. I've come close to signing up and signing my name on the dotted line. But then reality sets in and I stop. Not without regret, however. Both would be wonderful promotion, but only if I could nurture them and visit several times a week or at least commit to the same time every week. Maybe I could do one or the other when all the kids are grown, or at least when they have their own cars and become independent. For now, I will have to enjoy the many fantastic groups and radio shows others have set up. I need to do more writing anyway. Lately I've been promoting, expanding my knowledge, and refilling my well more than writing. It's time to flip that around and write more. I only have five more stories to be released and only one on submission. My big plans for this Memorial Day weekend is to finish and submit the short story I'm close to completing. That's if I can stop joining ning groups long enough. :) Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! You'll also want to see what Amarinda Jones, Anika Hamilton, Anny Cook, Barbara Huffert, Brynn Paulin, Bronwyn Green, Dakota Rebel, Kelly Kirch, Molly Daniels, Sandra Cox, Regina Carlysle, and Cindy Spencer Pape are up to, so make sure to visit them also. :)

I love to visit the groups when I can. I'm not good with keeping up but I try and will be there if you do make one Ashley!
You too have a good weekend!
