EXCERPT

Alicia was standing outside Sonia’s office, talking on her phone when I arrived.

“No, really, it was me. I was clearly reading the signs wrong. I can’t apologize enough.” Alicia’s eyes gleamed with smugness when she caught sight of me entering Sonia’s office. What was all that about? “We’ll forget it ever happened. I shouldn’t have crossed my professional boundaries. I don’t want this to come between us…” I didn’t bother to listen to the rest of her conversation as my eyes caught Sonia.

“Jade,” she said as she stood up from behind her desk. That was new. Sonia never stood up for anyone. “You can close the door.” I closed it with a puzzled look on my face. “Alicia doesn’t know I’m bringing you in on this mission yet.” It was a mission! Thank God! No, wait…if Sonia was bringing me in, it could only mean one thing! Damn it!

“The mission involves working with Alicia,” I groaned, taking a seat in front of her desk. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad this is a mission, but do I have to work with her? Can’t someone else do it?”

“Jade, I’m afraid you’re our only hope. I’m about to go against everything I’ve ever done while running the Seductors, but I can’t see any other way around it. Alicia has been on this case for almost two months and has gotten nowhere.”

“You want me to take over Alicia’s mission?” I frowned. Since when had Alicia had a problem seducing a man? Everything started to dawn on me then, and I clutched the arms of my chair tightly.

“I need the two of you to work together. This steal…it’s asking a lot. We aren’t even sure if it exists.” Now Sonia was losing me. “If we secure what we’ve been hired to find, our clients are willing to pay over one hundred million dollars. Maybe even more. There is no real price for it.” I was sure my mouth fell to the floor. One hundred million dollars? What the hell was the steal? “Jade, I’m asking a lot of you here, but I’ve hit a wall. If Alicia can’t work her magic, it can only mean one thing.” With bated breath, I was hanging on her every word. “He isn’t over you.”

What is it like to live in Britain?

Most people think Britain is all about Breakfast English Tea, listening to the sound of the rain, and celebrating our royal family. That may be partly true. One thing is for sure, though. If you don’t like the sound of rain, don’t visit or live in the UK. LOL.

The one word that describes Britain to me is green, and that’s because of our countryside. I’m lucky enough to live in a small town that is surrounded by beautiful fields and hills.

You can’t mistake our quirkiness either. We may be a small country, but we stand out thanks to our royal family and random way with words. My editor is from the US and we’ve had many late night giggles going over the difference in our languages.

So to sum it up, living in Britain to me is all about the beautiful green countryside and our quirky way of life on our ‘little’ island.

Author interview:
Why do you write erotic romance?

I’ve been writing romance for a while, and when you get characters that don’t want you to leave them when they close the bedroom door, you have to listen to them. I love the depth of feeling that comes from writing erotica, though. It’s very addicting to write once you’ve started. I can’t ever see myself going back to writing just romance. I think there will always be an element of sex in my stories from now on.

What romance subgenres do you write in? Why?

My stories always have a large element of suspense because I like to make my characters work for their HEA. (Yes, I’m that evil.) ;)

What would you like readers to take away from your stories?

I hope that I have given them an escape for a little while. That’s all I want them to take away. Oh, and that maybe they liked the book enough to want to read my others.

What inspires your stories?

Everything around me, but music plays a big part.

Do you have any book signings or author appearances coming soon? If yes, where and when?

Not this year, but next year I will be attending a few in the UK and one in the US. Details can be found on my website or Facebook page.

What is your writing schedule?

I don’t have a schedule as such, I just write when I feel I want to, although most of my writing is done in the evening.

Do you have any other passions besides writing? If yes, what are they? Why?

I love to read. That’s what made me want to become an author.

What is your best memory?

Making daisy chains with my mum when I was a kid. I must have been around 6 or 7. I remember the sky being so blue that day and never wanting the sun to go down.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Always Pizza.

What relaxes you?

Listening to music.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

I LOVE Disney films. (I have no kids yet, but have ALL the DVD’s)

What decade has been your favorite? Why?

I love the 90’s. For me, it was all about growing up, and that was the decade I first found wine. We have a good relationship now. ;)

What is your favorite way(s) to promote?

I love the blog tours, but facebook parties can be fun. To be honest, I love most of the promoting, getting out there are meeting your readers is an amazing thing.

Where is your favorite place to write? Why?

I’m lucky, I can write anywhere so long as I’m not disturbed by my husband.

What is your favorite fairy tale? Why?

Sleeping Beauty. Who wouldn’t want to be woken up by a Prince?

What was your favorite vacation?

I visited Arizona last year to see my best friend and editor. That will ALWAYS be my number one vacation. It was just amazing!

If you have/had another career, what was it?

I’m a head of department at a hotel, but I try not to think of it as a career anymore. It just pays my bills. LOL

If you didn’t write, what would you do instead?

I’d read a lot more and I think my house would be cleaner.

If you could have one wish, what would it be?

That my best friend and editor lived next door to me.

If you could describe yourself in only one word, what would it be? Why?

Complex. I have many layers, it would be difficult to find just one word to describe me.

Are you a cat or dog person? Do you have any pets and if so, please tell us about them.

Cat. My fur baby keeps me company when I write.

What is the one thing you most want to do that you haven’t yet?

I want to travel more, see the world.
