Pussyfooting Around

I've been pussyfooting around in more than one way. Or maybe trying to serve too many masters has caught up with me.

Of course, there's many pussy foots in my house - five cats. Bad joke, sorry. :)

Do women have mid-life crisis? Or mini nervous breakdowns? Or does plain exhaustion mimic either of those things? I've managed to keep my day job duties together pretty well and that's about it lately.

Here I am to stop pussyfooting around by telling you about "Pussyfooting Around".

Huh, you say?

I'm very honored that Ellora's Cave has re-released my short fantasy romance from the "Sex Kittens" anthology - "Pussyfooting Around". It released this week at:

http://www.ellorascave.com/

When Diamond gives her life in a selfless act, she is granted her most fervent wish—to become a human female so that she can win her beloved master’s heart. But becoming a human isn’t as easy as it looks. Pitfalls and traps lie in wait everywhere as she struggles to overcome her inner nature. If she fails this test, she will be turned back into a cat, and worse, lose Eddie’s love forever.

Notice Diamond's/Diana's tatoo on her back. Recently, my hubby asked me why so many women are getting tattoos on their back. How do I know? My guess - because they're pretty and sexy?

I understand that. What I don't understand is how women can stand to wear G-strings. They look like they'd be extremely annoying and uncomfortable. Although I'm all for beauty, I'm not for it at the expense of that much discomfort. In fact, I'm only aware that one of my friends ever wears a G-string. Maybe that's more of a younger crowd fad. Or maybe my other friends don't admit to wearing them.

Feeling my mortality lately, I've been working on my genealogy so my descendants will have it. So this G-string really seems at odds with the long dresses, long sleeves, neck-high collars, and high shoes my ancestors wore. Society has seen so many changes since my grandparents' youth a hundred years ago.

My heroine in Pussyfooting Around sees even more changes than clothing and electronics. You see, she's a cat who becomes a human. Wrap your head around that if you can. Here's an excerpt to help you try. :)

Diamond rolled in a patch of her favorite grass, the South Florida sunshine warming her belly. Spreading her paw wide over a four-leaf clover, she grabbed it with her extra finger. A polydactyl cat, she enjoyed her special paws.

A child’s strangled screams rent the air, nearly deafening her, chilling her soul. Hideous grunts mortified her, freezing her blood. Then she smelled it. Mildew and death. The neighborhood fiend had returned, mercilessly hunting new prey.

Alarm flooding her, she crept closer to the sound, her heart in her throat. The terrified cries belonged to the child who lived next door, the one who liked to cuddle her until she almost suffocated.

She didn’t know what a cat could do to thwart a ravenous alligator, but she couldn’t stand by and let the ogre hurt the little boy.

Screeching as loudly as she could, she called for reinforcements, hoping it wasn’t already too late. As long as the child screamed, he was still alive. As long as there was life, hope remained, however slim.

Streaking across the lawn, she leaped to the top of the fence, bounded down, and stared at the horrifying scene, her fur standing on end. The lethal creature chased the child at an amazing speed. It was much more agile than a bulky leathery being had any right to be. Huge jaws opened wide, and Diamond knew the young boy had no defense against its filthy, razor-sharp teeth. The gigantic creature would swallow him whole. The child’s only chance was if someone took his place—now. The seconds of his life ticked away.

No one else was in sight, human or animal. Where was that pesty dog Napoleon when she needed him? He never missed an opportunity to make her life miserable, but at least he could help her in a dire emergency. Eddie must have put him inside.

Terror engulfed her. Praying she would be reincarnated and elevated in her next life, Diamond darted between the boy and the monster, her claws sharp and ready to shred his soulless eyes. “Fight someone who can fight back, creepazoid.” Baring her fangs, her back arched, and her ears flattened against her head.

“An appetizer before the main course,” the disgusting creature taunted her, thrashing his long tail.

“Run!” she screamed to the catatonic kid, frustrated that he couldn’t understand her. Why, oh why, couldn’t humans understand her? She understood them.

Mustering her courage, adrenaline surged through her body. She screeched to distract the monster, her reflection in its black, soulless eyes valiant. Her tail pointed skyward stiffly. Her white fur bristled on her arched back. Her normally sunny eyes glittered almost as dark as the gator’s.

Snarling, her claws fully extended, her fangs ready, she swiped the monster’s long snout as she hissed, “Leave him alone!”

Long, deep scars engraved the leathery snout. With a pained grunt, the fiend whirled around on her, its huge maw snapping. Never had she seen such an enormously horrifying mouth. The beast could almost swallow the boy whole. He’d surely ingest her in one gulp.

Gnashing teeth ripped her flesh apart, and excruciating pain flooded her. Relief cut through the agonizing pain when the child’s father ran up and pulled his son to safety and then tried to pry her from the creature’s jaws. Wanting to be brave, she tried not to cry, but to no avail. Never had she dreamed such excruciating pain could exist. Finally, blessedly, darkness descended.

* * * * *

“You did well, my precious Diamond. Your noble sacrifice saved the child.” The most beautiful honeyed voice Diamond had ever heard wrapped her in silk.

She opened one eye and peered in the direction of the intoxicating voice. Her blurry vision slowly cleared. The loveliest human she had ever seen smiled serenely at her. The angelic being seemed to be floating on white fluffy clouds. Spears of sunlight pierced her transparent, sparkling body. Raven locks curled over her shoulders to her slender waist.

Diamond’s memory returned in bits and pieces. Flashes of the young child terrified, trying to escape from a monster, stabbed her. Then she saw a huge throat cavity and rows of horrific teeth. Shuddering, she squeezed her eyes shut against the frightening images that bombarded her.

“Don’t be scared, little one. You’re safe here.”

Here?

Diamond chanced another glance at her airy surroundings and realized she, too, floated on mere wisps of air. Startled, she clawed for purchase, her paws slicing invisible air. Oxygen filled her lungs but she couldn’t exhale. Gasping, she asked the woman, “Where is here?”

“You’re in Heaven, my pet. I’m called Venus, Goddess of Love. I brought you here.” A sunny smile curved the goddess’s beautiful lips and lit her exquisite features.

“Heaven?”

Where were all the golden mice? The golden goblets of fresh milk? The raw meat cut into bite-sized chunks?

Then a much more poignant thought struck her full in the chest, making her heart ache unbearably. “I’ll never see my master Eddie again? But he’ll be distraught! What will he do without me? Who will guard his house? Who will he cuddle up to at night?”

“A truly noble soul.” Venus beamed satisfaction upon her. “Your concern is still with your master.”

Diamond wasn’t sure exactly how noble her feelings were in regards to her master, so she veiled her eyes from Venus’ discerning gaze. She’d wished nightly that she could be in his bed, in his arms in a totally different manner—that she could be a human female…

Venus scooped her up in her silky arms and played with Diamond’s extra finger. She whispered in her ear, her breath warm and ticklish, “I can read your thoughts.”

Impossible!

Diamond’s eyes widened. She curled her paw around the woman’s finger. Her whiskers twitched as her tail wrapped around her body. Never before could a human read her mind. Of course, she had never been able to converse in human before, either. This Heaven was the strangest place she’d ever seen, and that included all the moving pictures she’d watched in that little box in Eddie’s living room that transported her to faraway destinations.

Venus said, “Heaven’s beyond your dearest dreams. We’re in the reception area. But I wonder…it wasn’t your time to die. You were due several more years on Earth.”

Diamond sucked in her breath. Did that mean the goddess might send her back to her master? How wonderful.

Venus rubbed behind her ears, making her purr. “Um…can I send you back?” The beauty stared into space, her gaze cloudy.

Diamond held her breath hoping with all her soul. Please! She wanted to see Eddie so badly she ached.

After several long moments Venus looked down at her. “Would you like to return to Earth as a human?”

Diamond blinked. She’d forever hoped she could be a human female so she could love Eddie, but she hadn’t dared dream her fantasy could ever become reality. She’d have jumped into an alligator’s maw sooner if she’d known. “I would love it and be eternally grateful. But where will I live?”

“Wherever you want to live, of course. As a human, you’ll have the freedom to choose for yourself.” A soft breeze swished Venus’ full skirts about her legs.

“With Eddie?” Diamond’s heart beat a suffocating drumbeat at the idea of living with Eddie as a human female.

The goddess brushed stray wisps of dark hair away from her eyes. “That I cannot guarantee. But I can return you to his neighborhood, and then you must make your own way. Hurry and decide—I have another pressing mission awaiting my attention.”

“Yes!” Diamond leapt for joy. Any chance was better than none. She missed Eddie so very much, she could barely breathe.

“Find a way to make Eddie love you, little one. Be your sweet, gentle spirit, and he’ll see what a treasure you are. Do you still want me to change you into a human? Say the word.”

“Yes, please! I’ll use all my wiles to make Eddie fall in love with me. I’ll rub his head and curl up on his lap. I’ll lick him all over. I’ll hunt for him. My master won’t be able to resist.”

A slight frown tugged at Venus’ lips, marring her flawless face. “Word of warning, my Diamond. Once I transform you, you’ll be human on the outside and you’ll have many human traits, but your heart and soul will always be part feline. If you want to fit in and take your new rightful place, you must guard against your old nature. In time, it will get easier, but you have much to learn. The human world is a complex one.”

Diamond’s hopes crashed. “You don’t think I can adjust? But I’ve lived with humans my entire life. I know humans so well.” She had paid much more attention to humans than her siblings who had thought her obsession with her master and his kind demented.

“Yet you speak of hunting for food and you call him ‘my master’. Humans rarely hunt, especially not today’s females…”

How backwards!
“Females are born to hunt.” It was her duty to catch food for her family.

The raven-haired goddess shook her head. “Not in the human world. Human females open boxes and cans to eat, instead of gathering food. They order in food from restaurants. You have much to learn.” Venus tapped her finger against her lips and paced in front of Diamond. “Perhaps I was too hasty with my reward. Perhaps cats cannot fit into the human world. You won’t even know how to read, or write…or cook.” Venus nibbled her lip and knelt down by Diamond’s side.

No! She couldn’t change her mind now.

Alarm slamming through Diamond, she rose on her haunches to pat Venus’ cheek with a gentle paw. “You can’t promise me the moon and stars and then yank it away from me thus. I know I can learn. Please give me a chance. No one could love my master the way I do.”

“And you won’t blame me if everything isn’t perfect? If Eddie does not fall desperately, irrevocably in love with you? If you don’t find the human world as much to your liking as you dream?” Indecision flickered across Venus’ worried eyes.

Diamond held up her paw somberly. “I shall not hold anything against you, your grace. I will be grateful for a second chance at life, to merely be with my master, whether he chooses me as his true mate or not.”

Indecision flickered across Venus’ darkened eyes. “Your emotions will intensify. Your heart will swell and be capable of holding much more ache than you ever imagined.”

“I’m sure. Please make me a woman. I am anxious to see how I shall look.”

An indulgent smile lit the goddess’s face. “You won’t miss your exquisite fur?”

Diamond shook her head emphatically. “It will be easier to keep myself clean, and I won’t be as warm in the hot time of year.”

“You won’t miss your whiskers?”

“I won’t try to squeeze under beds and into tight places.” She wouldn’t need to.

“You won’t miss your agility? You won’t be able to run as fast or jump as high.”

“But I’ll be able to soar to the heights of love and acquire knowledge beyond that of any other cat since the inception of the universe.”

Venus’ lips curved upward at that, and she nodded approvingly. Then she sobered again. “You won’t have nine lives anymore.”

“Did I have nine lives when the alligator swallowed me? I’m here, aren’t I?”

“Yes, my little Diamond. You have a point.” The goddess tapped her finger against her curving lower lip. “I must make a condition of my own. I will give you six months in which to win the love of a human male. If in that time, you fail, you shall revert to your former self and live out the rest of your days as a cat. Do you agree to my terms?”

Oh, yes!

Charity's Auction in Audio

Do you like audio books? My dad loves them.

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling well enough to even read but I'd found my author's copy of Charity's Auction in audio in my inbox earlier so I decided to listen.

It was perfect. I was able to close my eyes and focus solely on the story. I really got into the romance with no distractions. The author's sexy voice lulled me into the story's fantasy. I was able to relax and still enjoy. I'll definitely be buying a lot more audio books.

If you enjoy listening to audio books, or if you'd like to try for the first time, take a listen. There's an audio excerpt here.

Blurb:
When Char bids on and wins both sexy doctors Hunky and Hottie in her hospital's charity auction, she knows exactly what to do with them and it's not tidily winks.

Although head nurse Char Reynolds is desperately head over heels for bad boy Dr. Dexter Graham, he's moved on. Still she gets caught up in bidding for him at the hospital's auction for the new children's wing and wins. His smug expression drives her to also bid on and win the very hunky Dr. Ben Price, Dexter's nemesis and to plan a very naughty, very sexy night with both men.

Here's the book trailer.

Excerpt:
Charity “Char” Reynolds stared at Dr. Dexter Graham, her eyes narrowed, her heart doing the cha-cha while mathematical calculations flew around in her head. He was gorgeous with his dark, five o’clock shadow, the sexy glint in his eyes, and his broad, powerful shoulders. If it weren’t for that smirk on his lips, he’d be perfect. But he was far from it. He only looked perfect.

The good doctor was a bad boy through and through. It was a toss up whether he mended or broke more hearts. His record on the operating room table was stellar. Off, however, was horrendous. He’d broken so many hearts with that killer smile and huge dimples he should be thrown into solitary confinement for the rest of his miserable life.

Amy Koch, the hospital’s chief administrator, adjusted the microphone with her only hand. Then she tapped the instrument and blew into it. “Can you hear me?”

When the sound from the mic blasted through Char’s head, she clapped her hands over her ears in self-preservation. “Have mercy, woman.”

Once her brain stopped spinning and she was able to see again, she looked over a sea of other people holding their ears. Tentatively, she removed one hand, keeping it close just in case the mic went crazy again.

So far so good. Slowly, she lowered her other hand but kept it at the ready as she warily kept her eye on Amy.

Although, she felt sorry for Amy since the car wreck that had amputated the administrator’s left arm, that she couldn’t find anything to like about her caused her to war with feelings of guilt and distrust. Even before the accident, Amy had only been out for number one, stepping on anybody in her way, claiming it was for the greater good. Now people overlooked her mean tempered whining—until they came into her sights. Char had been dead centre in Amy’s far too often. As head surgical nurse, she and Amy butted heads daily.

* If you really prefer the written word, don't fret. The ebook version releases May 31, 2010.

Charity's Auction in audio is available at Total-E-Bound.

Celebrations times two

Today is a cause to celebrate times two. First and foremost, today is my 29th wedding anniversary. It's pretty unbelievable the hubby could put up with me this long. Or that our oldest son is 28. Or that I'm as old as I am. As of the time I'm writing this (a couple days before the 26th) we have plans to go to Red Lobster for dinner and then go swimming at the gym. Or maybe vice versa since the gym closes at 8 on Saturdays. At the time we married, it never occurred to me that our anniversary would fall on Super Bowl Sunday or nearby. Well, hubby claims the times changed for the Super Bowl a few years after we married. Other years, the Super Bowl fell on our anniversary - and I'm not a football fan and of course hubby is. So we celebrate a day or two after or before, but still... It's the principal. Um, considering this, it's amazing we're still married. I say this not just because of the Super Bowl stuff, but because right this second, he turned the volume off on the TV show we're watching (at least that I'm watching) and he turned on some Internet video and is blasting the volume. We may not make 29 years. My second celebration is that my most recent book "Last Man On Earth" was released TODAY at total-e-bound.com It's just a coincidence, but sort of a neat one. In "Last Man On Earth", a much younger man has the hots for an older woman. Since Earth just blew up he's the last living human male in the universe. How did he survive? He's an astronaut that was stationed on a space ship orbiting Earth with his commanding officer, not only an older woman but his superior.

After Earth blows up, Astronauts Colonel Genie Siska and Major David Randolph are kidnapped by aliens. Astronaut Major David Randolph is the last human male alive after Earth blows up. Colonel Genie Siska and David witness Earth's explosion from their space ship. In shock and despair, the couple run through a myriad of emotions. Although Genie's always been highly attracted to the major, he's also fourteen years younger than her. Even though he's literally the last man left alive, she still doesn't know if she can take a man so much younger than her as her lover. David's always been in love with his commanding officer, and he's frustrated that even now, she resists him. They are literally mankind's last chance for survival. Or are they? When they are "rescued" or is it kidnapped by aliens, the whole picture changes. However, they are not sure if it's for better or worse.

"Last Man On Earth" is available at Total-E-Bound.

Christmas Miracles

Today's the BIG day.

WHAT big day is it, you may ask?

THE BIG DAY of course!

This is the day "Christmas Miracles" is being released by Total-E-Bound at http://www.total-e-bound.com/

It's my second, not merely my first, Christmas story being released in 2008. I really got into the Christmas spirit this year, even if I wrote one of the stories in the summer heat of July.

No matter how many of my stories are published, release day is always a thrill. Even if my family has become blase about it, I'm not. Each one of my books is one of my precious babies.

I know my fellow writers understand that our books are our "babies". We conceived them. We created them. We gave birth to them. We nurture them and we're proud when they succeed and sorrowful when they fail. They're part of us. I'm still feeling the labor pains as I write this blog.

There's a big part of me in each one of my babies whether or not any of the characters or situations personally resembles me. Usually something happens in my life at the time of writing the book, or I draw on some important memory, that inspires part of the story. That inspiration might be something tiny like ducks waddling out in front of my car or dragonflies pirouetting over my daughter's ball field during one of her games, or it could be something big like one of my human kids getting into some kind of trouble or family history that I've uncovered while digging into my genealogy.

This particular story, "Christmas Miracles" was inspired (but changed to protect the innocent) by more than one of my memories. I won't go into any lurid details as the Internet isn't a very private place. I will admit that it revisits my hometown of Cincinnati at one of my favorite times of the year and I will admit it's based on the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Here's a blurb and excerpt. This one is a M/F contemporary erotic romance.

Tifanny gains courage from a visit by the Ghost of Christmas Past to reunite with three important people from her past.Tiffany's alone and lonely again this Christmas until the Ghost of Christmas Past takes her to revisit her cousin, her best friend, and her lost love, Dax. Although she's not sure it wasn't just a bad dream induced by an overload of Christmas movies and spiked Eggnog, she still tries to make things better with the people she lost long ago. But her mission's tougher than she'd hoped and she's only got till the Epiphany before real life reclaims her and she has to return to the day job a thousand miles away.

Excerpt from: Christmas Miracles

Tiffany Davis stared at her ornately decorated tree tied up with fancy, blue and silver ribbons. It was absolutely perfect. The built-in, multicoloured lights merrily twinkled at just the right intervals. A gorgeous angel with serenely flowing blonde hair topped the tree.

Beneath the tree, beautifully wrapped gifts were piled high, also in blue and silver to match. Only she knew they were empty, merely for decoration and affectation.

They were as fake as the pine scent she’d sprayed on the metal monstrosity, as fake and empty as she was.

She snorted. Who was she kidding?

This year, like many of the previous ones, she found Christmas depressing. An only child of deceased parents, divorced, childless, she was alone in the world.

Oh, sure, she had a lot of friends. Go-to-lunch kind of friends. None had invited her to join them for their Christmas celebrations.

Well, that wasn’t entirely true. Her cousins had invited her, but they were a day’s drive away, and she couldn’t justify travelling so far with the astronomical gas prices when she only had a three-day weekend off work. Besides, it wasn’t like they were close. She could count on one hand the number of times she’d seen them since her mom had died ten years ago.

Thoughts of her mother rumbled in her mind. Tears pricked the back of her eyes, and she choked on a sob. God, she missed her mom like hell. And she felt guilty she hadn’t spent more time with her. But Tiffany had been too busy building her career. She’d always thought they’d have plenty of time.

Her mom’s favourite Christmas CD by Elvis filled the empty apartment. Then the AC whooshed on, and a dry chuckle tickled her throat. AC—on Christmas Eve? That and hurricanes were what she got for living in Southern Florida. It was nothing like the white snowy Christmases she used to love in Cincinnati.

She thought about attending midnight mass and hearing the beautiful bell choir, but voted against it as she’d feel even more alone in the crowd of families and loving couples. Instead, she turned on the TV and landed on a station that was having a Christmas marathon, starting with a Jimmy Stewart tear-jerker.

Although she was on a perpetual diet, she felt sorry enough for herself to open the box of iced Christmas cookies a co-worker had given her and pour a glass of eggnog to sip as she watched the show. Curling her feet beneath her on the couch, splayed her Christmas skirt over her knees then dipped her cookies in the drink. She wondered if the world would miss her like they had Jimmy Stewart. She had no husband. No kids. Not even a dog. She wasn’t a humanitarian like Jimmy was in the movie—she sold socks for a living. Not cute, frilly socks. Just plain white socks. Maybe she should get a dog, she mused. At least, she’d have a warm body to cuddle, and someone who would be eager to see her when she got home from work. She’d always had a dog as a kid, usually a big, lovable husky.

She sighed as reality decked her square between the eyes. She worked and travelled way too much. It wouldn’t be fair to a dog to leave it alone so much.

In a fit of self pity, she downed the rest of her eggnog in one gulp and flicked the TV to another station. She didn’t need any more tear-jerkers tonight. She felt sorry enough for herself as it was.

Again it was a blasted Christmas movie, but at least it was a funny one with Bill Murray getting the snot kicked out of him by a pissed-off angel. Much more in keeping with her style and her mood. She dimmed the lights, stretched out on the couch and laughed despite herself as the miserable wretch got himself Scrooged by the three ghosts of Christmas.

At the stroke of midnight, she sat up long enough to lift another glass of eggnog. “To me. To Christmas,” she murmured ruefully. She couldn’t wait for the holidays to be over so she’d stop feeling so wretched.

There are a lot of great Christmas stories at TEB this Christmas. Don't miss them. I don't plan to.

Naughty Naughty Boys

"Naughty Boys" come out to play today. That is my naughty boys, Ryan and Drew. I'm sure there are millions, trillions of naughty boys in this wonderful world.

"Naughty Boys" is my latest short story, a Lust Bite actually, just released at Total-E-Bound today. That's http://www.total-e-bound.com

Originally, I entitled "Naughty Boys" "Top Secret Santa". I loved the title, but my editor sent a note that our publisher wanted it changed. I now know TEB also has a Christmas title releasing shortly called "Secret Santa". Oh well. Shit happens. The more I hear it, the more I like "Naughty Boys".

Naughty boys are fun, a lot more laughs than nice, quiet, well-behaved boys that don't have a lot of hot, wild sex or get into sticky situations. Naughty boys titillate our sexual appetites and whet our desire for a LOT MORE.

A whole subgenre has emerged around naughty boys - well, not my two naughty boys, but the entire shebang of M/M erotic romance. Look at any publisher's top seller list who sells M/M romance and you'll most likely see that the M/M romances are the bulk of the top sellers. Right now they're the cat's pajamas.

I just read an interesting blog by K.S. Snow in which she noted that M/M readers and reviewers have a lot of differing views on what they like in M/M romance. Some think there's too much sex. Others think there's not enough sex. Some think there's not enough plot or characterization or romance - in general.

I see such differing opinions by readers and reviewers for all subgenres, indeed all genres. Each of us is unique and has our own opinion. I will tell you, however, that Total-E-Bound requires our stories to be a lot of sex but also a lot of romance and a good, solid plot. Personally, I love a lot of plot and a lot of romance and fun in my books. That's how I like to read them and so that's how I like to write them. My kids will tell you I'm a born romantic and so all my stories will definitely be romantic, no worries. Only my kids, who don't like romance, will complain (because they do NOT want romance).

I could wax on all day about my newest naughty boys, Ryan and Drew, but I think you'd prefer to meet them and decide for yourself so here's a blurb and short excerpt.

Drew's had other Secret Santas but never one like this - on that gives him erotic sex toys every day of the week leading up to Christmas.

Blurb: When Ryan picks Drew's name in the office Secret Santa draw, he can't help but spoil the man of his fantasies. He finds that it really is better to give than receive when he has fun sneaking sex toys into Drew's office every day of the week before Christmas. He hopes Drew will be as turned on as him, and that Drew will return his feelings to make this their best Christmas ever.

Excerpt from: Naughty Boys

Ryan Holt fished around in the Santa cap his co-worker Angie held out and pulled out a name. He wondered if he would throw away good money again this Christmas.

Last year, his secret Santa had given him a box of envelopes. Not fancy stationery. Just envelopes.

He scrunched his brows.

What a cheap bastard!

And he’d spent a lot of time and effort getting a good gift last year, and he’d dropped a wad of cash.

He hoped he’d picked his own name as he had his eye on Josh Groban’s Christmas CD. He could hear Josh’s golden tones caressing his ears now. He could feel them vibrating in his soul.

In holiday heaven, he rocked back in his chair and unfolded the slip of paper as he hummed the tune tickling his mind.

His jaw dropped when he stared at the name written in bold, sexy scroll and his heart skipped several beats before racing full speed ahead.

Drew Mason.

God, Drew was what he really longed for Santa to leave in his stocking, all six feet three of gorgeous, delectable man. Forget Josh Groban.

Drew’s blond vision flashed in his mind, and Ryan drooled. His cock flexed, as he longed to take his fantasy man into his arms, drink deeply of his lips, and strip him of his clothes. He yearned to see every naked, mouth watering inch of him. He lusted for carnal knowledge in the worst way. His two-year old bed was still a virgin, and it was high time it got worn in.

A grin tilted his lips as he envisioned wrapping his fully aroused body around Drew’s and pulling him into the cradle of his thighs. He could almost feel Drew’s cock rubbing against his, could feel his powerful thighs fitting against him as if they were made for each other. Their musk overpowered the scent of Christmas pine and peppermint. Already, their sweet juices oozed from their cocks which were so ready to fuck one another.

Their gazes glazed over with passion as they caught and held. Ryan grew hotter still when Drew’s tongue darted out, moistening his suddenly dry lips. Then slowly, sensually, Drew lowered his lips and his breath coasted over Ryan before plundering his lips with a hot, fevered kiss and rubbing his groin against his.

Ryan’s blood was on fire and he couldn’t wait a moment longer to make Drew his. Savouring his closeness, the feel of his hard body, he let his ragged voice whisper over his lover’s warm flesh, “Love me. Let me love you. Fate brought us together.”

Drew huskily drawled, “Stop talking so much and kiss me again.”

Oh, he wanted a whole lot more than a mere kiss, but he laid a big wet one on the man as he reverently laid him on the bed. When he came up for air, he lubed his cock then he rocked back and hoisted his lover onto his lap.

“Fuck me now,” Drew implored, his beautiful eyes adoring him, his hand pumping his cock. “Before I come without you.”

From the hazy edges of his peripheral vision, Angie snapped her fingers in front of Ryan’s face. “Earth to Ryan. Come in, Ryan.”

Embarrassed, aware of the humongous bulge in his pants, he rolled his chair beneath his desk to hide his obvious erection. Not that Drew worked in his end of the building. It was unlikely the man would walk by and see him, but Angie would blab to anybody who would listen. Worse, she might think him hot for her.

“Uh, I was just thinking about my, uh, work project…”

Damn! He cursed himself for how raspy his voice came out.

Since my book is entitled "CONFESSIONS of a Nympho" do you have any confessions you'd like to share? Umm, what can I confess? That I write erotic romance and I sometimes use the "f" word? Y'all here already know that, so that won't work. That I'm obsessed with American Idol? Y'all know that, too. That I wouldn't turn down a threesome with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, is probably common knowledge on the loops. Okay, here's a new confession. I love to sing. I'm a closet car singer. I think I'm pretty good, but my 13 year old tells me I'm the worst singer ever. He holds his hands over his ears and begs me to stop. I'm soooooooooooooo crushed. I guess I won't be the next Kelly Clarkson. Anybody else want to play? Confess something? It's good for the soul.

Confessions of a Nympho - new book by Ashley Ladd - released Today! Monday March 10th

I’d like to introduce you to two very interesting characters: Tatiana Reece and Ace Dyer, in my brand new release, “Confessions of a Nympho”, at http://www.total-e-bound.com/, TODAY (Monday March 10, 2008).

I have to say that I miss my characters after I say goodbye. Sometimes, I just can’t say goodbye and bring them back in sequels. (To be released soon by Ellora’s Cave at http://www.ellorascave.com/ “Truth, Justice, & The Vampire Way” sequel to “Blessed Be” – vampire romance).

Excerpt heat rating: PG 13 – R rating

Blurb: CONFESSIONS OF A NYMPHO

In an effort to promote her books, erotic romance author Tatiana Reece decides it will increase her blog traffic if she starts a new blog in which she pretends that her personal life is as racy if not more racy than her novels. She calls it "Confessions of a Nympho" and she makes up some really hot, spicy stuff.
When tax season rolls around and she makes her annual visit to her accountant, Ace, the junior accountant handling her case—who has long been secretly in love with her—discovers her blog. Using an alias, Ace begins a torrid online affair with Tatiana that moves into a real world affair.
One problem. Ace disguises himself and when she discovers his true identity, she's furious.

Excerpt: * This excerpt is pretty tame but there are a couple of naughty words so be warned.

Tatiana leaned closer, licked her glossy lips, and smiled conspiratorially. “I hope you can find me a lot of big deductions this year.

Ace swallowed hard. He had something big for her all right, but it was inside his pants, swelling larger with every second. Embarrassed, he slid further under the desk to hide his source of discomfort. “We’ll see,” he said noncommittally, without any hint of emotion. “I’ll do my best.” He kicked himself for getting shy, not at all like the kick-ass romance heroes she lived for. How could he ever win a woman like her acting like this?

She dumped out the contents of both boxes onto his desk and sifted through them. “I went to several conferences this year and bought a new computer. Those hotel rooms are downright outrageous!”

Hotel rooms? He gulped. How he’d like to share a hotel room with her. He wondered if she went alone and took the receipt from her hands. When her fingers grazed his, shivers raced down his spine. Unable to stop himself, he asked, “Is this for single or double occupancy?”

She snatched the receipt from his hands, grazing his knuckles again. “Let me see. I get a roommate whenever I can, but a few times I went alone.”

His jealousy surged and he longed to ask the roommate’s name. Some of those nearly naked Tarzan-type cover models she’d had her pictures splashed with all over the romance magazines? Not that he’d ever admit to reading those or keeping track of her doings. He’d sooner cut out his tongue.

“How many? Conferences, I mean? Help me sort these into categories.” Or else they’d be there all night. On retrospect that might not be a bad idea…

She squinted at a computer printout in her hand. “What about websites? Aren’t they tax deductible?”

Loosening the tie that threatened to choke him, he nodded and tried to keep his voice steady. “Yes, of course.”

She leaned further forward and gazed deeply into his eyes. Her ample breasts strained against her t-shirt. The nipples budded against the flimsy cotton. “I mean, if I have more than one website? I just opened this new one, plus I have pages on some romance writers’ group pages.”
When he took the outstretched receipt from her outstretched fingers, her flowery writing on the back caught his eye, and he flipped it over. Reading it, his heart skipped several beats.

“Confessions of a Nympho” blog. It contained the website url, and he memorized it. Like he could forget a name like that? It was burned into his consciousness.

Confessions of a Nympho? His cock throbbed almost ripping open his zipper. His blood sizzled. He couldn’t wait to visit her blog and read her deepest, darkest fantasies. Or were they fantasies? Did she act them out? Was she really a nymphomaniac?

I hope you enjoyed the excerpt. I had fun writing it.
